Sunder Nursery is a 90-acre heritage park in the heart of Delhi, located adjacent to Humayun’s Tomb. It beautifully blends nature, history, and culture — offering a tranquil escape from the bustling city. Originally built in the 16th century during the Mughal era as a nursery for exotic plants, it has been transformed into one of Delhi’s most picturesque and eco-conscious green spaces. With landscaped gardens, heritage monuments, lakes, and biodiversity zones, Sunder Nursery is a perfect destination for history lovers, nature enthusiasts, photographers, and families alike.

Known For: UNESCO World Heritage site vicinity (next to Humayun’s Tomb), 15+ Mughal-era monuments, including six UNESCO-protected structures. Lush gardens inspired by Persian and Mughal landscaping. Rich biodiversity with over 300 plant species and 80+ bird species.

The heritage structures within the nursery — such as Sunder Burj, Lakkarwala Burj, and Mirza Muzaffar Hussain’s Tomb — reflect Indo-Islamic architecture and provide cultural depth to the green expanse.

Best Time to Visit: October to March is ideal, when the weather is pleasant and the gardens are in full bloom.
