Sajjan Garh Palace

Monsoon Palace - A Royal Viewpoint Above the Clouds

About Sajjan Garh Palace

Perched high on the Aravalli Hills, the Monsoon Palace, originally known as Sajjan Garh Palace, was built in the late 19th century by Maharana Sajjan Singh as a royal retreat and astronomical center. Its strategic location offers sweeping panoramic views of Udaipur city, Fateh Sagar Lake, Lake Pichola, and the surrounding countryside, especially breathtaking at sunset. The palace earned its name from its purpose – to observe the monsoon clouds and weather patterns. The structure, made of white marble, showcases delicate balconies, jharokhas, and Rajput-style turrets. Today, it forms part of the Sajjangarh Wildlife Sanctuary, making it a perfect blend of nature, history, and scenic beauty.
