Mehrangarh Fort
Mehrangarh Fort - The Crown Jewel of Jodhpur
About Mehrangarh Fort
Rising proudly 410 feet above the Blue City, Mehrangarh Fort is one of the most magnificent forts in India. Built in 1459 by Rao Jodha, the founder of Jodhpur, the fort is surrounded by massive walls that have withstood centuries of battles. Inside, a series of grand palaces—like Moti Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, and Phool Mahal—display intricate carvings, stained glass, and royal artifacts. The museum houses weapons, costumes, paintings, and furniture from the royal era. From its ramparts, you get sweeping views of the city’s blue-painted houses, creating a postcard-perfect sight.
