Restricted Items: Outside food, plastic bottles, smoking, alcohol, loud music and feeding animals is strictly prohibited.
More About: Established in 1959, the National Zoological Park sprawls across 176 acres near India Gate and Purana Qila. It houses over 1,000 animals and birds, representing nearly 100 species from across the globe.
Architecture: The zoo’s layout was designed by Major Weinman of Sri Lanka, emphasizing open enclosures surrounded by moats instead of cages. It includes well-maintained walkways, a reptile house, lakes for migratory birds, and tree-shaded paths.
Best Time to Visit: October to March (ideal weather for walking and spotting animals).
